The Adirondack – Partial Mesh Log Home

Adirondack_Marketplace

The love affair with log homes has seduced many in real life and within Second Life to adorn their lots with a rustic log home. The Adirondack by Galland Homes follows the modern trend in log home design of combining logs, timber, and stone with modern considerations to accentuate our lifestyles in SL and our desires to enjoy scenic vistas.

Thus, the floor plan is open with high ceilings to accommodate the camera angles found in many viewers. In real life, developments in the manufacture of protective glass and other materials used in modern log home construction has allowed log home designers to create incredibly strong, but open designs which allow great views and light to enter modern log homes. Within SL, architects are not bound by the real world considerations of wind and weight loads, etc. yet the Adirondack design is intended to make one feel as if they’ve entered a modern log home which would realistically find itself within the luxury vacation retreats within the Adirondacks or other locations.
